How You can get involved
There’s a role for everyone in Swad in Bloom, no matter your age, background or experience. Whether you have green fingers, creative flair, a passion for your community (or just a free hour to spare) we’d love to welcome you!
Explore the many ways to get involved below:
Community Litter Picking
Help keep Swadlincote beautiful and clean!
Our community litter picks are a simple but effective way to improve our shared spaces and show pride in where we live.
What you can do at our litter picking events:
Join organised clean-up days in parks, streets, or community areas
Collect litter with grabbers and bags (all equipment provided)
Work in pairs or groups for safety and fun
Enjoy a chat and a cuppa afterwards!
Our litter picking events are for anyone to join, from students to retirees, families to local business. Just drop us a message or check out the calendar and we would love to include you in our next event. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Market Stalls and Fundraising
As a not-for-profit group, all of Swad in Bloom’s activities are funded by donations, grants, and community fundraising. Supporting our fundraising efforts is a great way to contribute, even if you can’t commit regularly.
You can help by:
Swing by and take a look at the different handmade items, plants, crafts, and seasonal goodies.
Getting your face painted
Joining the raffle
Having a chat
Every pound raised goes back into flowers, tools, compost, workshops, signage, and community activities.
We attend most large events in swadlincote and look forward to seeing you there.
